This is the first of several articles that will contain marketing and promotion
tips that can be very effective in promoting your site for little or no
cost. So sit back with your favorite beverage, put your feet up on your
desk (make sure the boss does not see) and enjoy. These tips are all proven
techniques that do not include spamming.
Tip #1 - The Signature
File
It is such a simple little
thing that the vast majority of people overlook it. How often do you forward
an email you received to a friend of yours because you thought they would
like the info. or printed it and given it to someone. Here is the other
person receiving that email and at the bottom of it is

Tip #2 - Ask for
the Link
Asking another webmaster
to link to your site is one of the best methods for marketing your site.
The more sites you are on the easier it is for people to find you and the
more sites you are on will get you better rankings in some search engines.
You see, some search engines figure your sites popularity into their method
of listing your site and your popularity is determined by how many links
there are out there to your site.
The number one method for
people finding new websites is from other people’s sites. Surprised? Second
place is search engines.
It is an easy thing to do.
Just Ask! You might try writing a nice letter that explains your site and
ask for the link. Search the Internet for sites that are related to yours
or offer services that compliment yours so that you can develop strategic
partnerships. These are the best sources to link to. Send out a few every
day. You will be surprise how fast the links will add up.
OK, now get to work on these
two and check back in a couple of days for the next couple of tips. In
a couple of months you will see major improvement in your hits and it will
have cost you little to nothing.
