Developing a Strong Logo
Branding, or marketing your
web sites image to the world, is important in creating a successful web
presence. Developing a strong logo for your web site is an important element
in that branding process.
Your company’s logo is the
first thing people see when they visit your business or your site. It will
be linked (pardon the use of a web term) with your identity for many years
to come. So, developing a strong logo is essential and you should take
lots of time thinking and developing this.
Developing a logo is not
an easy thing. Our logo took many hours and days of pouring over ideas
and dozens of names and logos before deciding upon the one we have. It
is clear and easy to read and the graphic element of it is simple and ties
into the name.
Things to consider when developing
a logo are;
1. How will it look on a
web site?
2. Does it present the correct
image?
3. How will it look on promotional
items? Shirts, Hats, Coffee Mugs, Business Cards, Letterheads.
4. Does it create a positive
and lasting impression?
We recommend that you hire
a professional graphic design firm to help your logo. OneDog.com can create
a logo for you or we can recommend other firms for your design.

Developing a Strong Slogan
A slogan should something
that creates an image of the company that it represents. Successful examples
of effective slogans are;
- Just Do It
- Fly the Friendly Skies
- It’s the real thing
- Don’t leave home without it
Some marketing companies charge
up to $35,000 to create a slogan for your company. A slogan is essential
to the success of your company. Many times a consumer will remember your
slogan before they will remember your company name. A slogan should convey
a strong thought that relates to your company. It should be short and have
punch to it. Easy to remember, and say. After you have created it, use
it. The process of creating a strong logo and slogan and how they
used is called Branding. We will discuss Branding in our next newsletter.
